A good match played in good spirit with chances for SPARTA to take one or two games but somehow didn’t.

Norman made the most of the evening playing fourteen legs and recovering from losing positions in many of them. Not bad given it was his third match since March – as he kept telling us.

Retired Pete had a very good game with Working Pete but ran out a winner and then won his other two in three.

Steve had interesting games but a leg against Norman and a deuce against Neil was as good as it got.

Working Pete had a five legger with Norman where he should have won in four after being 10-7 up, then lost in five as well as a four legger against Pete but ultimately finished winless.

Similarly, Mandy fought out a five legger with Norman but that was as good as it got as well.

Beers in two pubs brought a good night to a close – well in two pubs for Neil as Retired Pete gave Mandy and Working Pete a wrong steer, so they ended up on their own in one whilst players from PRO, HMT, and Castaways were in another. However, Neil made sure they had company for the last pint.

Bye week next week for Castaways so time to regroup and plan for the rest of the games up until Xmas – well for the Team Xmas meal that is!
