Hanson Pumas of Division 1 trounced Hanson Dolphins 29 – 3 in this one sided contest. Richard Fettes and Ray Carver both won three each, whilst Shaun Carver only managed two having succumbed to Rob Macey 11-9, 3-11, 11-4, 4-11, 6-11.
Hanson ‘A’ had a close match with Hanson Jaguars and surprisingly only just won 20 – 17. Trevor Whitelock was the star for Jaguars as he won his three sets, with Graham Audin chipping in with one. Peter Henderson (‘A’) and Dan Geary both won two apiece with a disappointed Steve Rollason only winning one.
In Division 2 the young teams of Hanson Pidgeons took on Test Valley ‘A’ and Pidgeons recorded an excellent 24 – 6 result. Pidgeon’s Captain Nathan Shears won all three, supported by two each from Adam Shears and Simon Przeklasa. Cameron Langdown (TV ‘A’) played very well to beat both Adam and Simon in three games.
Hanson Panthers continue to dominate this division and notched up another maximum points win, 30 – 4 against Hanson Lions. Panthers Andy Farmer, Dave Broomfield and James Taylor all took three sets each. The shock of the evening was the fact that Karl Jones who had previously only lost one set, had a bad night and lost all three.
Enham defeated Hanson Falcons who only had two players, 26 – 10. Pete Farmer and Patrick Baker got two each, with Jason Cullip getting one for the opposition. However, Falcons did have a very creditable win in the doubles, when Pete and Roy Horner lost to Jason and Jill Cook 11-13, 13-11, 12-10, 9-11,10-12.
3D’s and the two man team of Hanson Hawks had a very even tussle which eventually resulted in a 16 – 15 win for 3D’s. The star on this occasion was Adam Lockington (Hawks) who won all his three sets, with Ollie Raymond getting one. Nicky Downs (3D’s) and Marie Dyke both won one each, so 3D’s were glad of the forfeited sets.
