The closest match this week in Division 1 was between Hanson Leopards and Hanson Cougars, which resulted in a 20 – 19 win for Leopards. Rob Macey was the star winning all three sets for Leopards, with James Clarke and Pete Dyson getting one each. Chris Stockdale (Cougars) won two, with Nick George and Gerry Vaughan winning one each. Rob had an excellent win against Chris in three straight sets, but as usual went to five games with Nick before triumphing 11-9, 12-10, 8-11, 5-11, 11-7. Pete also had a couple of five game sets, beating Nick, but losing to Chris. The final result came down to the doubles with Cougars leading by one point. However James and Rob played very well against Chris and Nick to take the set 11-9, 11-4, 5-11, 11-8, and win the match.

Hanson Panthers who could only field two players so went down heavily to Figheldean 2 – 30. Lionel Coles, Julie Dean and Brian Cook all won three sets for Figheldean.


The only match in Division 2 resulted in Hanson Lions beating Enham 24 – 14. Mike Bonarius won three for Lions with two sets each for Ross and Darren Walkom. Peter Farmer played very well for Enham winning two sets and just losing to Mike 10-12, 8-11, 11-9, 11-6, 16-14.Ross had a ding dong battle with Roy Horner (Enham) before winning 6-11, 12-10, 10-12, 11-7, 11-8. Pete and Roy surprisingly took the doubles.
