Chronicle Report 4th Dec 2014

Frys beat Chippenham B 6-4 to record their first Premier
Division win of the season. Recent recruit Emmanuel Le Boulbar was man of the
match with a maximum and he was well supported by Fred Martin, who carded a
double.  Andrew Perham (2) Paul Vincent
and Bryan Taylor registered the points for the defeated visitors.

Oldfield A came from behind to snatch an away draw with Key
Centre A, winning an exciting doubles contest to share the points. Mark
Woodcock and Alan Champneys won two games each for Oldfield, but neither could
overcome Martyn Le Butt, who starred for the hosts with a treble. Ken Milsom
and Peter Galea shared the other two points for Key Centre.

Bath Invaders recorded a good 6-4 home win over Bathford B
in the First Division, with Steve Tainton recording a fine hat-trick and John
Bowers (2) and Simon Monks securing further points. Jules Truss, Peter Whipp,
and Steve Phillips won a game each for the visitors.

Batheaston A also registered a 6-4 home win, over Ensleigh,
for whom Ian Clark and Ping Zhang won a pair of games each. Ian Holbrook stole
the show for the hosts with a maximum, which was supplemented by further
singles wins from Dennis Townsend and Richard Cotton.

Bathford D achieved the joint biggest win of the week in the
Second Division – a 9-1 home success against lowly Bear Flat B, whose only
point came from Joe Wiles. John Holding and Cyril Case both carded trebles for
the home team, and Tony Parr added another pair.

Dave Carter took the plaudits with a maximum as Key Centre B
fought out a draw at home to Batheaston B, with Mark Tanner securing the
remaining two points for the Keynsham team. Chris Rudd’s double was best for
the visitors, whose other points came from Chris Sharpe and Phil Gentle.
