Chronicle Report 11th Jun 2015

The Bath and District Table Tennis League’s end of season presentation/social evening took place at Bath City FC’s Randall’s Lounge on Friday 29th May. The function was very well-attended by members and their partners/families (some 100 in total) who enjoyed a buffet, and were entertained by a quiz and a performance by Malmesbury String Ensemble.

Trophies were presented to the winners and runners-up of the league titles, team cup competitions, and closed championships.  In addition to the presentation of the regular trophies, special awards were made to two players who retired from playing at the end of the season after many long years of competition and service to the league. John Higgs was most recently President of the association, but for many years was responsible for league management and has also performed a number of other roles, including the coaching of juniors. Brian White has also been an active member of the executive committee for many years, and has organised many competitions and championships, as well as acting as secretary of the Newbridge club.
