Reigning premier division champions Chippenham A continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 27-14 away success against Oldfield B. Terry Parkins and Jerry Musselwhite both carded perfect nines for the victors, with John Clifford contributing another 6 points. Martyn Le Butt (6) Jim Stevens (5) and Nigel Dagger (3) replied for the hosts.

Yatton Keynell A hosted Bathford B and gained a convincing 25-10 victory, with Ray Powell maintaining his unbeaten record, and Jamie Smith (8) and Keith Holland (5) supporting well. Josh Kashdan-Brown led the visitors’ response with 6 points, with brother Leon (3) and Ray Bennett completing their tally.

Two of the division one promotion candidates met at Langley Burrell with hosts Chippenham C defeating Key Centre A by 23 points to 13 with Brenda Baldwin starring with a full 9 points. Andy Perham (8) and Paul Vincent (3) also contributed for Chippenham, while Brent Pollard (8) Ken Milsom (4) and Graeme Harbour earned the away team’s points.

Yatton Keynell C were unable to emulate their A team, going down 22-16 at home to Ensleigh A for whom Ian Clark registered a maximum and David Hockney and Ping Zhang added 6 points apiece. Alasdair Hulbert (7) Mark Yelland (4) and Martin Wilkins (2) scored points for Yatton in reply.

In division two Paul Crocker was man of the match as unbeaten Radstock C overcame Batheaston A by 23 points to 13 at home. Steve Moss (7) and Simon Young (4) added to Crocker’s maximum, whilst Dennis Townsend (7) and Gary Sartain (6) were responsible for the away side’s total.

Batheaston B were also defeated, with Bear Flat B getting the better of a 23-11 score-line on their travels. Gary Oaten was again the star man for the visitors with all 9 points, while Tim Cahill (8) and Keith Gammon (3) also chipped in. Norman Thomas (6) and Phil Gentle (4) earned singles points for the home team.
