Bath Invaders A lost some ground at the top of the Premier division after going down 25-13 at home to third placed Chippenham B. Scott Cooper took the honours for the visitors with a fine maximum and he was well supported by Alex Kearney (8) and Andy Cox (6). Dave Busari led the Invaders’ response with seven points while Julian Elsbury added three.

Bathford A ran out comfortable 27-7 winners at home to Radstock A, for whom Derek Landricombe was the only player to gain any singles success with 6 points. Phil Marshall top-scored  for the hosts with a full 9 points, but  Bruce Dearling and young substitute Will Avery were not far behind with eight and seven points respectively.

Yatton Keynell B are steadily rising the Division 1 table and were boosted by a 26-12 home success against Oldfield E. Richard Terrell and Adam Dawes both secured maximum points for Yatton with Joe Dukes contributing a further five. Greg Burridge (5) Julie Taylor (4) and Mike Newton were on the scoresheet for the away team.

Yatton Keynell C were also victorious, inflicting a 26-11 defeat on bottom team Key Centre B at Keynsham. Alasdair Hulbert led the way for the Wiltshire side with a full quota and Tony Payne (8) and Martin Wilkins (6) backed him up well. Mark Tanner’s 6 points was best for the home team, whilst Dave Carter (3) and Chris Chapman also scored.

Runaway Division 2 leaders Chippenham D failed to gain maximum points for only the third time this season, yet still thumped Yatton Keynell D 27-4 away to increase their advantage at the top. Jon Freeman earned the hosts’ points, managing to dent Jim Wheeler’s unbeaten record in the process, but Tom Griffiths and Steve Deeble both carded nine points to add to Wheeler’s six for the leaders.

Oldfield F also recorded an emphatic win, by 26 points to 12 at home to Bear Flat C. Colin Dowding took the plaudits with a full nine points for the home team, while Lee Bailey added eight points and Paul Harris seven. The visitors responded with points from John Hunter (5) Jon Turner (3) and Lucy Bowskill.
