Roger Gillett Shield Presentation

Emily Koester, a pupil at Bexhill Academy, became the second person to be awarded the Roger Gillett shield for sporting achievement by Bexhillians Table Tennis Club. In 2019 -2020 she achieved becoming East Sussex County number one in her age group and represented the county in her own age group and also the age group above. She also played as a reserve for Bexhillians Table Tennis Club in Division 3 of the Senior Hastings and District Table Tennis League and also in the Watts Cup, winning all her matches. She is currently preparing for her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award and is coached by English Table Tennis Coach Trevor Towner who is the club's secretary. She was presented with the shield and also another trophy to keep for this outstanding achievement by Roger's son Graham Gillett who is chairman of Bexhillians Table Tennis Club who have now  achieved Premier status by the English Table Tennis Association.
