The second half of the Team Competition started with two contests which went to the wire.

Leaders Rose & Two Thorns were again without Tony Catt and his exotic shorts and saw their lead reduced to a single point as Ivory Rose edged home 5-4.  Rose Rainton was unbeaten for the Rose/Thorns while John Wilson and Alan McCleave won two each for the losers.  Sheila King was heavily involved for the leaders beating Pete Robinson 13-11 in the decider and losing 9-11 in the third to both McCleave and Wilson. At 4-4, it was left to McCleave to clinch the win for Ivory Rose with a straight games win over Alison Jordan.

Winter Mixtures won another nail-biter,  5-4 against Ball Bashers to move within a point of the leaders, thanks to a Nathan Darby maximum and two wins from Pam Winter while Ryan Heselden won two for the Bashers.  In the clash between team-mates at Hastings champions Hastings Academy A, Darby pipped Heselden 11-9, 12-10. With the match in the balance at 4-4, Winter edged out Nick Coleman 11-7, 6-11, 11-9.

TT Allstarz are ahead of Winter Mixtures, in second place by one set after a 6-3 win over Slovakquickdust with three wins for Arthur Bracken and two for James Gorridge while Martin Kapusta won two for the Slovaks. Kent junior Bracken beat Sussex junior Kapusta 11-8, 11-8 in a game of excellent hitting and few long rallies before Kapusta took the last singles against Gorridge to claim yet another bonus point for Slovaks.

Going Down ended a four match losing streak with a 7-2 win over Bats Atoxic with John Ellis and Brian Busbridge unbeaten.  Kim Shearer beat Ed Lawrie 13-11 in the third but lost out to Keith Lindsay and Peter Saunders, with all her sets going the distance. Toxics are now four points adrift at the foot of the table.
