Amann Ubhi secured a magnificent hat-trick as Colebridge Aces stunned champions Hamstead A in the Premier Division. The reigning Warwickshire Closed champion was unstoppable in beating Steve and Lester Bertie and Nabil Khalfey. Hamstead were strongly fancied to retain the title and this reverse is a stunning blow to their hopes so early in the season. Navinder Matharu and Edward Lynn also played their part in this crucial success. Beaufort B were indebted to a Rob Sheldon maximum in their first win, a 7-3 scoreline over Streetly A. Jack Williamson of Beaufort Sports A proved too strong for Colebridge Braves, to lead his side to a 6-4 home win. Hamstead B powered to an impressive win, as former Jamaican No 1 Carl Morgan and the explosive Lindon Douglas demolished Sutton Coldfield A 9-1.
Sutton Coldfield B hammered Smiths Wood C 8-2 in Division One, with John (Ludders) Ludford in fine fettle for Sutton, with his combination style. Golden oldies Terry Cooper and John Waters weaved their magic for Streetly B, as their promotion bid got under way in style, with an 8-2 victory over Beaufort Sports C. Jason Hadley led Smithereens A to an 8-2 victory over Bournville A. He was aided and abetted by a brace each for Stephen Smith and Danny Sullivan.
Quinborne A and Colebridge Eagles drew 5-5 in Division Two, while a Courtney Lambert-Sadler maximum could not produce a win for Smiths Wood D in a 6-4 reverse to Sutton Coldfield D. Dave Whittingslow remains unbeaten as Smithereens B gained their second win in a narrow 6-4 win at Colebridge Falcons.
