League Week 18

Association chairman Steve Smith won his first ever singles in the top flight in Smithereens A 7-3 victory over Smiths Wood B.  He went on to record a maximum, with successes over Jack Styring, Simon Upson and Paul Leck.  Colebridge A hammered Beaufort Sports B 10-0, while Hamstead B thumped Smiths Wood C 9-1 as John Collymore and Steve Robinson were both unbeaten.  Jack Williamson and Jon Ludlow kept up their dynamic form for Beaufort Sports A in a 9-1 defeat of Streetly A.

Sutton Coldfield A clinched the Division One title after a crushing 8-2 triumph over Streetly B, which saw Jason Hadley outstanding.  Kate Hughes, Amit Ubhi and Rajinder Davsi ensured promotion foe Colebridge Braves after a one-sided 10-0 mauling of Sutton Coldfield C.  Maypole A skipped to an 8-2 win over Sutton Coldfield B, with John Harrison in maximum form.

Dean Hicks of Colebridge Falcons and Mark Georgevic from Colebridge Dinosaurs brcame joint individual winners in Division Two.  Falcons hammered Colebridge Hawks 9-1 with Bernard Oliver matching a Hicks maximum, while Georgevic gained a treble in an 8-2 scoreline over Colebridge Chiefs.  Roger Morris used his vast experience to record a maximum which enabled Smiths Wood D to earn a draw at Colebridge Giants.  Harry Sideras and Ryan Birbeck were again outstanding for Beaufort Sports C in a resounding 8-2 win over Quinborne A.

Richard Parks of Streetly C gained the individual crown in Division Three as his side achieved a 10-0 success over Colebridge Knaves, which saw Mike Standen and Graham Fleet also unbeaten. Alison Stewart enabled Maypole B edge Sutton Coldfield E 6-4 with a smart treble.  Martin Clayton and Martin George were maximum men for Bournville B in a 7-3 win over Colebridge Jaguars.  Steve Taylor picked up another hat-trick in a 6-4 home win for Colebridge Lions over Ivy Leaf A.  Sutton Coldfield F and Walmley A drew 5-5, whivh saw Walmley reserve Maurice Clayton the only maximum man.
