Summer Week 8

Week 8 saw Colebridge Aces cement their position at the top of Division 1 with a 7-3 home win over Smiths Wood A.  Amman Ubhi was unbeaten, avenging an early season defeat by Alan Caffery, who won two for the visitors.  The Aces included Nav Matharu for this one and he won two losing out to Caffery in a five game classic.  A hat trick for Gbemi Okunribido led to a 7-3 win for Streetly A at Sutton Coldfield A.  The home team battled hard with Trevor Davies winning two to salvage a point for them. Smithereens A earned maximum points in an 8-2 home win over Beaufort Sports A in their chase to catch Colebridge Aces at the top.  Matt Satchwell and Jason Hadley were unbeaten for the men from Darlaston.

Streetly B kept the pressure on Colebridge Braves at the top of Division 2 with a narrow 6-4 home win over Smithereens B. John Waters gained yet another treble and Mike Standen won twice to steal the points from the visitors for whom Association Chairman Steve Smith won two.  Unbeaten Colebridge Braves extended their lead at the top with a 9-1 victory at home to Sutton Coldfield B.  Three for Lee Holtham and Steve Taylor and two for Mike Evetts in this one with the gallant Colin Cleverley winning a late consolation match for the visitors.

In Division 3 Quinborne earned all four points with an 8-2 home win over Maypole B.  Pulkit Bawa and Ming Sung were both unbeaten for the Quinton based outfit.  High flying Hamstead scorched to a 9-1 win at home to Sutton Coldfield C who welcomed back Graham Williams.  He won one and pushed the youngsters close in his other matches.  Virdi and Balogon were unbeaten for the League leaders.  Smiths Wood B had a useful 6-3 win at Beaufort Sports B with James Watts and David Lewis picking up trebles for the visitors.
