Last week the unstoppable Ramsbottom Cricket Club steamrollered through another match 27 – 5 against Nomads A in the Premier Division with all players on obvious maximum nine points. Second placed Flixton Cricket Club A did not have it all their own way as they did in the first half of the season as they took on Radcliffe Cricket Club just winning 17 – 15 despite a resisting nine from Zac Cantor. Hilton A had a 22 – 13 win over Flixton Cricket Club B helped by a nine from Jake Shaw. Maximum points from Barry Elliott also assisted Wharton to a 19 – 14 win over Ladybridge A. Heaton Cricket Club A just above bottom of the table Coburg A had a 20 – 15 win helped by a nine from Paul Ward. Little Lever Cricket Club A had their table damaged by an outside party and were unable to compete against third place Ramsbottom Town A. This will be an item for this week’s Committee meeting.

In Division One top of the Division Burning Desire met bottom of the table Meadow Ben A. No surprise then that with all players on maximum points they secured a 27 – 2 victory. Fourth placed Hilton B also had an expected win over tenth placed Little Lever Cricket Club B 29 – 9 with nines from David Andrews and Geoff Pye. Second placed Acre Bottom were held to a 21 – 16 win against Nomads B due to a resisting nine points from Naz Ahmed. Mid-table BRASS A had a 21 – 13 win over second from the bottom Hilton C 21 – 13 with Andrew Morey providing nine points of Hilton’s resistance. A mid-table clash saw Wingates just beat Ramsbottom Town 20 – 17 assisted by a nine from John Bradbury. Another mid-table clash between Farnworth SC A and Coburg B resulted in an 18 – 18 tie.

Top of the table Division Two’s Heaton Cricket Club B overcame mid-table BRASS B 23 – 12 helped by a nine from Duncan Kay. Second placed Hilton D maintained form with a 26 – 8 win over mid-table Bolton TTC A with Roy Alti and Matthew Fishwick on maximum points. An unexpected win had seventh placed Ladybridge B beating third placed Hilton E 19 – 17 helped by nine points from John Cole.

In Division Three top team Bolton TTC B had a 21 – 14 win over Farnworth SC B. Second placed St. Paul’s Peel had a 19 – 13 win over second from the bottom Walkden Methodists helped by a nine from Faizan Bhura. Seventh placed Farnworth SC C overcame fourth placed Polonia Club 19 – 14 assisted by a nine from Christopher Lord. Mid-table Meadow Ben C beat bottom team Ramsbottom Town C 26 – 9 with nines from Ian Wheeldon and Jack Berry.

In Division Four top team juniors Hilton I met bottom team Meadow Hill B with an expected 27 – 3 drubbing and all Hilton players on top points. A full strength second placed Meadow Hill A made up for their first half of the season loss against third placed Hilton H with a 25 – 8 win with Roy Caswell and Roy Platt on top form. Second from the bottom Ladybridge C beat a two man mid-table junior Hilton I team 20 – 12 despite what is becoming a regular resisting nine from Nathan Donaldson. Mid-table Irlam Steel beat Albany three places below them 22 – 10 helped by a nine from David Yates.
