Bolton News 11th October

Last week in the Premier Division of the Bolton Table Tennis League top team Glodwick marched on beating fourth from the bottom Ladybridge A 26-4 with nines from top of the averages Majid Tubasum and Kyan Chin.  Radcliffe Cricket Club had a good match just losing out 20-16 to second placed Ramsbottom Town A despite a resisting nine from Robert Hall. Third placed Flixton Cricket Club A kept up the pressure with a 26-7 win over Little Lever Cricket Club A with nines from Philip Bowen and Stephen Scowcroft. Flixton Cricket Club B’s players were also on form with maximum nines as they beat Hilton A 27-4. Ramsbottom Town B beat Wharton 21-13 helped by a nine from Brian Clements. In a bottom of the table clash between Nomads and Burning Desire, neither team could get the better of the other resulting in a 16-16 tie with Charles Musa on nine for Nomads and no movement for either team.

Division One saw the return of Farnworth SC A’s top player John Hutchinson in his first match of the season and his nine points also giving the team their first win of the season 22-9, Hilton E being the unfortunate victims. Hilton C also went down 22-15 to Little Lever B assisted by a nine from Paul Tatlock. In the top half of the table Coburg met Hilton D winning 21-14 with a nine from Derek Watmough. Top of the table Ramsbottom Town C had a maximum points 27-9 win over mid-table Wingates and second placed Hilton B had a good 26-7 win over mid-table Meadow Ben A with nines from David Andrews and John Davies. With one fully registered player short, Ramsbottom D lost out 18-15 to Heaton Cricket Club A.

There can be little doubt that newly acquired Lee Devenport’s regular nine points in every match has been largely responsible for St. Paul’s Peel movement to the top of the Division Two table. Last week they just pipped Bolton TTC B 17-16. Second placed Polonia Club A maintained their form with a 22-10 win over Farnworth SC C with a nine from man of the match Dawid Kakol. Mid table Meadow Ben B had a good 22-11 win over Top Spinners helped by a nine from Mike Heaton. Previously bottom of the table Meadow Ben C met the team above them Farnworth SC B, who with a weakened two man squad lost 27-2 resulting in both teams changing places. Top of the table Bolton TTC A had a good 26-9 win over mid-table Brass Zone with nines from Nayem Alam and Kirit Chauhan.

Division Three’s new team Polonia Club B were still looking for their first win of the season. With Meadow Hill A’s top player absent, they took advantage breaking their duck with a 20-16 win and nine points from Nicolai Jitek. Top team Walkden Methodists maintained their form with a 21-10 win over Ladybridge C with nines from Carl Bennett and Steve Kelsall. Towards the top of the table Meadow Ben D achieved a good win 23-11 over Hilton G assisted by a nine from Alan Weall. Juniors Hilton H won 26-7 over a struggling two man Farnworth SC D. Towards the top, Hilton F met the bottom of the table Albany to win 24-6 with nines from Jeff Saunders and Ian Raby. In the bottom half of the table Irlam Steel SC thrashed Meadow Hill B with a maximum point score of 27-4. Top of the averages David Yates was man of the match.
