Bolton News 4th February

Last week the Bolton & District Table Tennis League took a break from league matches for the 3rd round of the Warburton Cup, a competition for all teams in all divisions. We were down to the last sixteen teams.

Coburg B from Division One had an 88.5 start but were unable to topple Burning Desire from the Premier Division who won  387 – 355.5. They will now be at home to Division Two’s Hilton F who made full use of their 108.5 start to overcome Little Lever Cricket Club B from Division One 371 – 351.5.

Polonia Club A from Division One went through on a walkover as Farnworth Social Circle B conceded. They will now have to face their own Division Three B team who with an 80.5 start beat Farnworth Social Circle C 378.5 – 323.

Ladybridge B from Division Two were drawn against their own C team from Division Three who had 100.5 start. However, it was not enough as the B team were too strong winning 391 – 318.5. They will now be at home to Premier team Little Lever A who despite facing a 210.5 start from Division Three’s Meadow Ben C ran out winners 398 – 329.5

Once again experienced cup players Hilton Hawks from Division Two triumphed. Making use of their 80.5 start, they ran out winners over Division One’s Meadow Ben A 378.5 – 337. They will now be at home to the Premier Division’s Coburg A whose opponents from Division One Hilton E, had a 47.5 start. This was not enough as Coburg beat them 370 – 293.5.
