In what can only be described as arctic conditions, Lodgers J paid respect to their opponents Lodgers C by fielding Brian Hill in replacement of Chris Christoforou. With Brett Heppenstall racing through his singles in straight sets and Brian dropping just one set on his way to his hattrick, it was looking like it was going to be a tough night for the C team. Alan Ashberry though, had to work hard for his points - being taken to four by Steve Allen and winning the last two sets to win in five against Andy Birks. It wasn't until the last night of the match when Scott Sykes managed to put a point on the board, beating Alan in a very close contest - Scott taking the deciding fifth end 11-8. With the J team taking the doubles in straight sets it was a comfortable 1-9 victory for the title chasers.
