In a battle between the top two in the division it was Lodgers E who inflicted the first defeat of the season on Lodgers B. Lodgers B were off to the worst possible start though when they could only field two players with Trev Blackbourn unavailable. David Kime started proceedings with an excellent five set victory over Richard Baxter, David comfortably taking the fifth 11-3. However, he came unstuck in his next match when ex team-mate Vic Clements beat him in four ends. In his third match-up against No. 1 ranked Gary Jacques, David was 1-2 down but managed to take a close fourth end 12-10 but Gary closed the door, taking the fifth 4-11. No. 2 ranked Colin Bell didn't start too well, losing in four ends to Gary Jacques but came from 2 ends down against Richard Baxter to take the next three 11-6, 11-6, 11-6. Then he completed his night with a good four end victory over Vic Clements. With the doubles also going the way of Lodgers E and the three walkovers, it was Lodgers E who walked away with the 3-7 victory on the night.
