LODGERS A TAKE NO PRISONERS!

Lodgers A got their season off to the best possible start with a 10-0 demolition of Lodgers Blades although Darron Kent and Simon Raistrick for Blades almost caused an upset on the night. Player of the Match Kelvin Clements was in imperious form as he brushed aside his singles opponents in straight sets. Lodgers new signing Derek Woods also got his three but found himself in a bit of tight spot against Blades new signing Darron Kent. With Darron leading 1-2 after three ends, the fourth end was a crucial end and one Derek couldn't afford to lose, which he didn't, but only just, Derek taking it 12-10! Derek then got his nose in front to take the decider 11-6. Graham Lacey followed suit, winning his three singles but also having a ding-dong battle with Simon Raistrick with Graham coming from 0-2 sets down to take the third 11-7, then a tight fourth 12-10 before wrapping up the victory 11-9 in the fifth. With Kelvin and Graham comfortably winning the doubles against Simon and Gavin, this wrapped up a comfortable opening 10-0 victory.
