Match Report

LODGERS C MOVE INTO SECOND PLACE!

Lodgers C moved into second place in the table when they visited stablemates Lodgers B, coming away with a hard-earned 0-10 victory. Player of the match, Steve Allen was once again in fine form, comfortably winning his singles in straight ends and Scott Sykes matched that feat too, although Trev Blackbourn was unlucky not to take an end from him in a close match. However, the Lodgers B players could consider themselves all a bit unlucky not to take something from the match, with all three of them going the full distance against Andy Pocklington. Trev came from 1-2 down to take it to the fifth before just coming up short 8-11. Colin Bell did likewise, coming from 1-2 down only to fall short 6-11 in the fifth. Then in the final singles of the night, Richard Baxter came from 0-2 down to just miss out 7-11 in the fifth! Andy certainly likes to win the hard way! In the doubles, the pairing of Bell/Baxter took on the strong partnership of Sykes/Allen, with the Lodgers C duo proving too strong, winning in straight ends.
