Unfortunately for Stickney, Kelvin Clements and Gary Hill were in no mood to give them any more charity, with player of the match Kelvin rattling through his singles in straight ends. Gary Hill also won all of his singles but he was made to work a little harder with Paddy Hartnett and Andy "The Cat" Birks both taking the first end against him before Gary got into his stride. In the doubles Paddy and Andy took the first end against Kelvin and Gary but just fell short in the fourth 10-12 to take it to five sets.
