PADDY ROLLS BACK THE YEARS!

Paul "Paddy" Hartnett roll backed the years putting in a player of the match performance when they took on Graves Park A, Stickney coming through 6-4 on the night. Paddy started brightly with a four set victory over the dangerous James "Quinno" Quinton before putting Graham Walters to the sword in straight sets. He finished his evening by coming from 1 set down to defeat Alan Reetham in 4. Andy "The Cat" Birks played his part too, in what must have been a tiring night for a man of his age! All of his matches going the full distance. First he came from two sets down against Alan Reetham to take the next three 11-5, 12-10, 11-8, which he followed with a five-set victory over the unlucky Graham Walters. However, it was a bridge too far with Quinno, with Quinno coming from 2-1 down to take the final two ends 6-11, 7-11 to spoil the Cat's night. It was a tougher night for Vince Lozynsky who could only get the one victory over Alan Reetham with Quinno and Graham Walters too strong on the night. With the match won at 6-3 after the singles, the Park did manage to win the doubles with Quinno/Walters outplaying the Hartnett/Birks combo to win in straight sets.
