EVANS SPARES WRANGLE'S BLUSHES!

Pete Evans was the man who spared Wrangle being whitewashed by defending champions Lodgers J, with a four set victory over Chris Christoforou but that was as good as it got for Wrangle. Alan Ashberry was the player of the match, comfortably winning all of his singles in straight ends and Brian Hill followed suit also winning his three in straight sets. Chris Christoforou fought back from losing his first singles to Pete by beating Sam Cooper in three straight but Dave Coulson gave him a scare by taking the second end 11-7 before Chris took the next two ends 8-11, 6-11. In the doubles Cooper/Evans took on the daunting task of Hill/Ashberry and they put up a decent fight before losing in four sets.
