POCKLINGTON PUTS IN PLAYER OF THE MATCH PERFORMANCE!

  With only two players being able to turn out for each side, it was a short evening when Lodgers C welcomed Wrangle. Andy Pocklington put in one of his best performances of the season winning his two matches with a straight set victory over the inform Sam Cooper and a four set victory over Dave Coulson. Scott Sykes also got his two but was made to work a lot harder for his points. Against Sam, he lost the first end 10-12 after a brilliant comeback from Sam at 10-4 down! Scott hit back to take the next two 11-5, 12-10 before Sam put the cat amongst the pigeons with a 4-11 victory in the fourth. In the decisive end though it was Scott who got the better start to take it 11-5. Dave Coulson also made Scott work hard taking the second set 8-11 and in places looking like the Dave Coulson of old (maybe the new rubbers helped!). With Scott and Andy winning the doubles too, the match finished early with Lodgers taking a 9-2 victory on the night.
