LODGERS A TOO STRONG FOR LODGERS C!

  With No. 2 ranked Steve Allen still not available, it was once again going to be a tough night for 2 man Lodgers C.  However, things got off to the best possible start with Scott Sykes just getting the better of Gary Hill over five ends. Scott took the first two ends before Gary hit back with the next two. In the fifth Scott got off to a flyer going 1-5 up before Gary hit back to take the next six points to go 7-5 ahead, but Scott wasn't to be denied, taking the end 8-11. In his second match, Gary again found himself 0-2 down to Andy Pocklington before he got his attack going to take the next three ends 11-5, 11-2, 11-7. Kelvin Clements was the player of the match, beating Andy in straight sets before getting the better of Scott in four. Graham Lacey backed him up with a straight sets win over Andy and a four set win over Scott. The doubles was the match of the night with the rarely used partnership of Scott/Andy taking on the more established Kelvin/Graham, and it was Scott/Andy who took the fight to the Lodgers A duo, being 1-2 up after three ends. However, Kelvin/Graham took the fourth 11-7 before just pipping Scott/Andy in the fifth 11-9 to take home a 9-1 victory.
