CLOSE FOUGHT BATTLE AT THE PARK!

It was a close fought battle when Graves Park A welcomed bottom club Lodgers B to Kirton with the Park just edging it 6-4. Despite being on the losing team, Trev Blackbourn was the player of the match, winning all of his singles and dropping just one end to Alan Reetham. Colin Bell got the other point for Lodgers with an epic battle against Alan Reetham, with Colin taking the decisive end 9-11. This was Alan's 12th five set defeat out of 13 for the season! James "Quinno" Quinton was the pick of the Park players, comfortably negotiating his other two wins in straight sets but special mention must go to Mick Dodes who was playing up from Division 2, who also secured two points with victories over Richard Baxter and Colin Bell. With the score at 5-4 in favour of Graves Park, the doubles took on extra significance but it was the Park duo of Quinno/Dodes who came out on top, winning in four against Blackbourn/Bell.
