EPIC BATTLE AT THE TOP!

  It was an epic battle at the top of the table, with half of the games going the full distance,  as first took on second place as Lodgers J prepared to avenge their defeat from a couple of weeks ago. In the singles it was the A team who came out on top with all three players registering two wins apiece. Gary Hill got the night off to a flyer by inflicting a second defeat on No. 1 ranked Brett Heppenstall in the last few weeks, Gary winning in four ends. Gary then lost a tight five setter to Alan Ashberry with Alan taking the decisive fifth end 11-7 and then followed that with a four set victory over Chris Christoforou. Graham Lacey was the calculated "player of the match" with four set victories over Alan Ashberry and Chris Christoforou before losing his final match to Brett Heppenstall. Kelvin Clements was made to work the hardest with all of his matches going the full distance, first coming from 1-2 against Chris Christoforou before losing the tightest of fifth ends 14-12 to Brett Heppenstall and finishing his evening with a five-set win over Alan Ashberry. It was a similar story in the doubles with Ashberry/Heppenstall coming from 1-2 down against Lacey/Hill to take the next two ends 11-8, 11-2.
