Lodgers Blades lost 0-10 to stablemates Lodgers C though there was some positives to take away from their match. Scott Sykes was the player of the match, winning all of his matches in straight sets. The returning Steve Allen won his three without too much trouble, beating Gavin Read and Lucas East in straight sets but found Darron Kent a bit more troubling, with Darron doing very well to take the second end before fading in the next two. The match of the night was between Andy Pocklington and Lucas East which went to five close ends with Lucas displaying some lovely shot-making and fine defence. After three ends Lucas was 2-1 up before Andy hit back to take the fourth 9-11. In the fifth, Lucas got off to a flyer but Andy dug deep and sneaked it at the death, 10-12. Andy then had a similar battle with Darron Kent, Andy again coming from 2-1 down to take the next two ends 9-11, 5-11. Andy then finished his evening off with a four set victory over Gavin Read. In the doubles the Sykes/Pocklington partnership was too strong for Kent/East. Although it was a 0-10 victory, Blades on another night could have won a couple of matches and Lucas and Darron both showed that they have the ability to play at this level.
