TWO MAN LODGERS DOWN TETFORD!

Tetford must have thought they had a chance when Lodgers D could only field two players in their opening match of the season with only Steve Hill and David Kime available. It was looking even better when Brian Todd was 2-1 up against Steve Hill but then came the pivotal fourth end, with Brian just losing out 10-12 before Steve powered away in the fifth 5-11. Steve then went on to defeat Mary Silverton in straight ends and Jon Newby in four. David Kime was the player of the match, dropping just two ends to the unlucky Brian Todd and Jon Newby on his way to earning his three points. The doubles match between Jon and Brian versus Steve and David was arguably the match of the night with ends being shared all the way to the fifth end where Steve and David finally put the match to bed, taking the fifth end 6-11 and the match 3-7.
