NOMADS PUT IN BATTLING PERFORMANCE!
Graves Park Nomads drew level on points with second bottom Boston Squash Club with a battling performance away to high-flying Lodgers D. Lodgers D veteran Tony Kime was the player of the match proving too wily for the Nomads lads although Alan Davy and Russ Freeman each managed to take an end off him. Steve Hill added two more points for Lodgers although he was stopped from claiming his hattrick with a determined performance from Russ Freeman, coming from 0-2 down to take the next three ends 9-11, 9-11, 6-11 and take a significant scalp. It was a tougher evening for Ian Gorrie though, losing in four ends to Steve Sykes in the first match of the evening before also falling short against Alan Davy and Russ Freeman. With the match poised at 5-4 after the singles, the Nomads duo of Sykes/Freeman were hoping to win the doubles against Hill/Kime to go home with a draw - but it wasn't to be with the Lodgers duo comfortably taking the doubles in straight sets and with it the 6-4 victory on the night.
