Match Report

GRAVES PARK D KEEP PRESSURE ON SIBSEY!

Graves Park D moved up to second place in the league with a resounding 9-1 victory over stablemates Graves Park E, who struggled to cope with the firepower at their opponents hands. Phil Brooks, making his first appearance of the season for the D team, was the player of the match racing through his singles in straight ends and minimum fuss. With No. 1 ranked Paul Matschull doing likewise it looked like it was going to be a very tough night for the E team. However, it was a sterner examination for Mick Dodes with Pete Bell and Fred Calvert doing their utmost to get a point on the board for the E Team. Fred ultimately lost in four ends but Pete Bell took him all the way to a fifth end, just missing out 9-11. In the end, the E team did get a point, that their efforts deserved, with Bell/Calvert taking a well deserved victory over Dodes/Matschull in the doubles.
