SIBSEY EDGE GRAVES PARKS D!

In this top of the table clash it was Sibsey who came out on top with a 6 – 4 victory.  Phil Brooks was the star man on the night winning all his three singles, but he was taken to five ends by both Neil Snaith and “Five End” Ellis, Phil winning the fifth end 12 – 10 and 13 – 11 respectively.  The previously unbeaten Paul Matschull picked up one beating “Smiler” Smith in three close ends.

Mick “Five End” Ellis played particularly well on the night beating Paul Matschull in three and Mick Dodes in four ends. Neil Snaith was also in good form beating Mick Dodes in three and Paul Matschull in four.

The doubles then became a pivotal game on the night with the Graves Park pairing of Dodes and Matschull needing a win to clinch a draw and they immediately went into a two-set lead but the Sibsey pairing of Snaith and Ellis were made of stern stuff and took the next three ends to clinch the match 6 – 4 in a very entertaining evening.
