  Jon Newby was the player of the match, comfortably winning all of his singles dropping just one end in the process to Dave Hill. Brian Todd ably backed him up, winning all of his singles dropping an end to Dave Tennent and Dave Hill. Peter Hughes also won his three but was made to work considerably harder, going the full distance against the unlucky Dave Hill and Nikki Eden-Smith, having to come from 0-2 down on both occasions before winning the next three.
