PLAYER OF THE MATCH YET ON THE LOSING SIDE!

   Despite being on the losing side on the night, Dave Kime put in a player of the match performance which included two titanic battles against No. 2 ranked Paul Matschull and Mick Dodes. In his first match against Paul, Dave was 1-2 up before losing a tight fourth end 13-11 but Dave was the stronger in the decisive fifth end, coming through 8-11. Against Mick, Dave started strongly by taking the first two ends 6-11, 9-11 but Mick wasn't going down without a fight, hitting back to take the next two 11-9, 11-5 to set up an exciting finish. And exciting it was, going all the way to deuce before Dave scraped through 11-13. Dave then finished his hattrick with a straight sets victory over Dave Walters. That, however, was as good as it got for Lodgers with the Park players all managing to beat both Ian Gorrie and Tony Kime and to rub salt into the wounds, Dodes/Matschull teamed up to take the doubles against the father and son duo of Kime/Kime.
