Match Report
Boston Squash Club generously agreed to switch this fixture to the Squash Club due to the unavailability of Sibsey School, unfortunately for the Squash Club the Sibsey team were not in such a generous mood and came away with a 10 – 0 victory.
Although the score line reflects an easy victory for Sibsey there were some stand out performances from the Squash Club team in particular Nicki Eden-Smith who managed to hit several fore-hand drives against the side spin returns of Neil Snaith before taking a creditable first end off Mick “Five End” Ellis with some impressive attacking play and came very close to winning the second end before Mick took control to take the game in four. The two Dave’s Tennent and Hill also put in some good performances, Dave Tennent taking the second end of “Five End” Ellis and Dave Hill made life difficult for both “Five End” Ellis and Roger Hooton.
In the doubles the Sibsey pairing of Snaith and Hooton came up against the two Dave’s and promptly took the first two ends but the Squash pairing hit back to take the third, but any hopes of causing an upset was quickly quashed with the Squash pair taking the all important fourth end to give a final score of 10 – 0 to complete a highly enjoyable evening at the Squash Club.
