GRAVES PARK D CEMENT SECOND SPOT!

Graves Park D pretty much guaranteed themselves at least runners-up with an 2-8 victory away to Graves Park E. No. 2 ranked Paul Matschull was in top form, racing through his singles, dropping just one end to Alex Allbones. Alex could consider himself very unlucky on the night, losing his other two singles to Mick Dodes and Dave Walters in five ends which on another night could have easily gone his way. Peter Bell battled hard, losing to Mick Dodes in four before agonisingly losing 11-13 in the fifth to Dave Walters. However, Fred Calvert came to the rescue, taking a point in the singles with a straight sets victory over Dave Walters. Park E then doubled their score with Calvert/Allbones beating Dodes/Walters over five ends in an entertaining doubles match to finish an enjoyable evening.
