MAYFLOWER TOO STRONG FOR NOMADS!

Mayflower were just too strong on the night when they visited Graves Park Nomads, coming away with a 2-8 victory on the night. Wayne Grooby was in top form, taking the player of the match plaudits with a commanding display, winning all of his singles in straight sets. Chris Cooke backed him up with three wins albeit dropping one end to Eriks Pitkovics. Young Jamie Hill, fresh from winning his first singles the previous week, followed that up with two wins against John Shortland and Eriks Pitkovic but came unstuck against Steve Sykes, who beat him in four ends to earn Nomads a point. In the doubles, the Nomads duo of Sykes/Pitkovic put in their best doubles display of the season, coming from 1-2 down to take the next two ends 12-10, 11-7 to double their tally on the night.
