CHAMPIONS ELECT ADD TO RECORD POINTS TALLY!

Champions elect Sibsey added another 7 points to their total score for the season with a 3-7 victory away to Mayflower, who put in a valiant effort with four of the ten games going to five ends. Sibsey now stand at 175 points for the season with one more match to play, which must be a record for a division 2 team? Neil Snaith showed why he is ranked No. 1 in the division with a player of the match performance, taking all three of his singles in straight ends. He was ably backed up by Mick "Five End" Ellis, who won all three of his singles, beating Tony Hall and Wayne Grooby in straight ends but went his customary five ends with Chris Cook, coming from 2-0 down to take the next three 5-11, 4-11, 9-11. Roger Hooton had a night of five-enders with all his matches going the distance. In his first match Wayne Grooby came from 1-2 down to take the next two ends 11-8, 11-8. Roger also missed out in his second match against Chris Cooke with Chris taking the decisive end 11-9. However, on the last singles of the night against veteran Tony Hall, it was Roger who came from 2-0 down to take the next three ends 7-11, 5-11, 7-11 to finally get a point on the board. In the doubles Grooby/Cooke took on Snaith/Ellis but it was the Sibsey duo who came out on top, winning in straight ends to complete an entertaining evening.
