Weeks five and six.
Billericay A continued their near flawless start to the premier league season with another 10-0 win, this time over club mates Billericay D, Kim Shead, Keith Adams and Norbert Fullerton doing the damage. Kevin Smart won the very first set 11-9 over Keith Adams, before losing 1-3. Thereafter it was one way traffic as the A team took the remaining singles 3-0. Tony Ayliffe and Colin Barham did take a 2-0 lead in the doubles but Kim and Norbert ensured normal service was resumed by winning the final 3 legs.
Buttsbury A are one of Billericay A’s main rivals for the premier league title and will be buoyed by the first appearance of one of their star players, Reece Seddon. Reece did not disappoint with a treble in a 7-3 win over Billericay B. Evie Knaapen again impressed with 2 wins for Buttsbury.
Mountnessing A still have a game in hand as they defeated Brentwood B 9-1, James Hobley and Elaine Sayer taking the honours again. The 3 teams play each other over the next 3 weeks so we can expect intense training sessions, busy team psychologists and some tight clashes,
In the only other premier league match Billericay C beat Hutton A 8-2 with Trevor Collin taking player of the match award for Billericay. Alex Ware again showed fine form for Hutton with an excellent win over the dangerous Garry Hartgrove.

It was a long night at Navestock Side as Billericay A knocked out the home team 5-2. Keith Adams’ (-28) comeback against Mike Lucey (-1) from 1 -19 down, having already accumulated 27 points to get back to zero, to take the first leg 22-20 was extraordinary. Keith took the second leg 21-8 from a shell shocked Mike. Ian Wall (-24) clinched the fifth win, edging out Mike again 20-22, 20-22, in itself a pretty good win. Keith and Ian amassed 235 points between themselves during the evening. Billericay A is the current handicap cup holder and seems quite keen to retain the cup.
