Table Tennis Win in Cardiff for SGS College
SGS College’s German International student Kai Moosmann, aged just 16 has won his second national open table tennis tournament of the year in Cardiff. After his success of winning the JLM Academy open senior tournament at Evesham in November, he was back in action last weekend at the Cardiff Grand Prix, hosted by Table Tennis Wales.
Kai who is studying Sports Coaching at the College, whilst continuing to develop his table tennis career played some outstanding games and was the winner of the band 4 event in the morning. In the afternoon competition he put in another great performance, with a win over England’s Louis Price, who has just gone to number 1 in England in the U15 age group, who also now trains at the College on a regular basis. In the final of band the result did not go Kai’s way but he was pleased with the way he played.
“Playing 13 games and winning 12 was a good performance for me and the results will boost my rating in the UK”. “The training and expert coaching that I have managed to obtain along- side my academic course here in England has been in valuable” said Kai.
Next he goes to the Bath Grand Prix in January after the Christmas break and hopes to build on the success that he is having this season.
