The Mayor of Halton was a surprise guest at the Premier British League as Sunday’s action heated up.
Councillor Margaret Ratcliffe turned up to witness the action for herself and left thoroughly impressed with the quality on show.
Mrs Ratcliffe revealed her delight at having the best of British table tennis in Halton and stated that the sport was reveling in the area.
“I think it’s absolutely fantastic for us to have such a high profile competition in the area and I thoroughly support any more events in the future.
“It’s been great to speak to the players and I hope they have enjoyed the facilities that we provide. We’re very proud of this fabulous facility that we fund and the council are always behind supporting table tennis in the area. The sport is popular in this area and we hope players from Halton will be featuring in these high calibre events going forward.”
