End of Round 2 - Play-Offs

Cardiff City opened a two point gap at the top of the table following a 6-2 victory over Rotherham Scorpions. Despite Rotherham’s Mark Short picking up a superb double with victories over Yongbo Zhang and Simon Noutch, the latter being clinched 12-10 in the fifth. However, it wasn’t enough for his side as Wiktor Dzwonkowski and Paddy Thomas notched their second doubles of the day. Cardiff’s next match could prove pivotal as they face BATTS, who were on their bye round.

Meanwhile, Greenhouse’s hopes are all but over as the fell to their second 5-3 defeat of the day against York Gardens. Richard Carden was the hero for York as he notched two wins over Tony Wilkinson and Ovigwe Eyarhano. Those wins were nullified by Daniel Basterfield, who won two of his own for Greenhouse, but a solitary win each from Brian Li, Matthew Man and Daniel McTiernan secured victory for York.
