Tom Jarvis’ trophy-lavished season has been extended further after being voted as British League’s Player of the Season.
Jarvis, 15, played a prominent role in Ormesby’s glorious season in which they captured three of the major trophies up for grabs. Jarvis starred in both the Boys’ and Senior Premier Division teams, ending the season with 34 wins from 37 matches, a win percentage of over 91%.
He played as Ormebsy’s number 1 seeded player in the Junior Boys’ team which captured glory over London Academy, with the championship going to the final set of the season, whilst the Skegness star featured predominantly at number 3 in the Senior Premier Division team, which won the title after a year-long tussle with Sycamore.
It was not only the number of wins that made Jarvis’ campaign standout, but the significance of them, most notably his win over Matt Ware in the title-deciding Premier Division match and both of his five set wins over Gabriel Acahmpong and Luke Savill in the title showdown in the Boy’s competition. This made Jarvis’ capture of the prestigious Player of the Season trophy a unanimous decision.
British League Chairman Chris Dangerfield said “We were delighted to be able to recognise Tom’s achievements and contributions to the Ormesby campaign this season. His role in the title deciding matches of both Junior and Senior events were pivotal. He has been a solid and reliable performer for both teams throughout the season. He’s a bright star and we are delighted to recognise Tom as British League player of the season 2014-15.”
We would all like to extend our congratulations to Tom for another superb season, and we are excited at the prospect of seeing his development on the British League circuit for years to come.
