SBL Round 6 Preview

This weekend will see the 6th round of the British League Premier Division get underway which will be the last set of matches for 2016. After an exciting set of matches in the last round all clubs will be looking to end the year on a high this weekend.

After coming up against their fiercest rivals in Ormesby last weekend Drumchapel will be playing Fusion away in this round.

Up until last weekend’s draw against Ormesby the club had a faultless start to the season winning all of their matches by a clear margin.

Hoping to finish the year for Drumchapel in a similar style will be He Zhi Wen, He Bai, Calum Main and Tao Shi. After this weekend the club are looking forward to a well-earned Christmas break to then come back in the New Year and continue their success within the League.

Fusion Table Tennis Club are sitting in the middle of the table with 4 points but are only an arm’s length away from the rest of the league who are chasing at their heels.

This weekend will be a tough round for the club as they are going up against Drumchapel who are sitting comfortably at the top of the table.

Batts have only lost one match so far in the season and took home two comfortable wins against Cardiff City and Halton which were both away fixtures.

This weekend will also see Batts playing away when they lock heads with Ormesby in their 5th match of the season. Confirmed players for the club so far are Steve Beerling and Peter Cleminson.

Ormesby are just behind Drumchapel in the table with 7 points but have a game in hand against their main opponent in the League.

Playing against Fusion this weekend will be Filip Szymanski, Danny Reed and Darius Knight with the 4th player yet to be finalised.

The club have had a strong start to the season and will be hoping to bring the year to a close with another victory to put them in good stead for when they return to the League in the New Year.

Cardiff City will be hosting North Ayrshire this weekend and the match should bring out some high quality play from the two clubs who are sitting side by side on the table in 5th and 6th position.

The result of this match will be significant for both clubs as it will be crucial in deciding their end of season position.

North Ayrshire are just one point ahead of Cardiff City going into this weekends match after drawing against Fusion in the last round.

Sean Doherty, Richie Main, Colin Dalglish and Chris Main are the team selected for this vital match which is the same team that went up against Fusion.
