SBL Round 11 Preview

The British League Premier Division is nearing its end and the table is split into three but with 4 rounds to go there is still the chance for movement on the table. This weekend we will see the 11th round get underway.

Coming out of an 8-0 defeat when they played Ormesby, Cardiff City will have an equally tough weekend when they play Drumchapel who have been this season’s unstoppable team.

The last time the two clubs met it was an 8-0 whitewash and this match will also be played away adding to the pressure of going up against the leagues number one club. Confirmed to play this weekend are Daniel O'Connell, David Buck, Ryan Crowley.

Cardiff City’s players will be tested this weekend when battling Drumchapels all-star team in the form of Liu Song, Calum Main, Huang Yen Che and He Zhi Wen who only lost his first match when playing Ormesbys Victor Brodd in the 9th round.

The rest of the season may only seem like a formality for Drumchapel but Ormesby will be waiting in the wings to seize any opportunity afforded to them so the club will still be at 100% until the title is in their hands.

After winning the battle of the bottom two in the last round North Ayrshire will be feeling positive ahead of their match against Ormesby this weekend.

Playing the league’s number 2 will be a tough match for the Scottish club but they will be looking to put some pressure on Ormesby and create an exciting match.

Man of the match Chris Main from the last round will be sitting out this weekend but confirmed to be making the trip down to Middlesborough is Sean Doherty, Richie Main, Colin Dalglish and Craig Hardie

Ormesby gave a strong performance when playing Cardiff City winning 8-0 and although winning the league title is now looking unlikely they will look to do more of the same this weekend to further consolidate their second place.

Playing for the club this weekend are some familiar faces, Filip Szymanski, Danny Reed, Darius Knight and Michael Marsden.

Halton are still struggling at the bottom of the table yet to gain a single point. The club have been plagued with team selection issues and the rest of the clubs in the league have been a powerful force this season.

Continuing their selection issues ahead of this weekend’s match against Fusion Halton have lost players to two other completions this weekend. Richard Lightowler, Kevin Dolder, Ryan Lunn and Connor Whitehead are the players who will be playing for the club this Saturday on home soil.

Fusion have only lost 3 out of their 8 matches and are currently sitting comfortably in the middle of the table. The last time fusion came up against Halton they took home a convincing 7-1 victory with 5 of the matches being over in 3 sets.

After this weekend the club will have played the same number of matches as third place BATTS and could challenge for that spot on the table.
