On Sunday the 12th of June Charlotte Boston and Georgina Lister represented Cambridge in the National Bromfield Trophy for girls.

First match was against Horsham/Crawley with highly ranked and England international Kate Cheer ranked 5 in the juniors and Alice Hazell, the girls found it tough going and lost 5-0.

Up next was Hull who also fielded a strong team with Jasmine Wong England's under 13’s number 1 and much improving Zoe Hewitt.

Charlotte was first up and lost to Jasmine 3-0 which was followed by Georgina beating Zoe to level the match 1-1, the girls lost the doubles to trail and then Georgina lost the next match to Jasmine to trail 3-1, they could not win the match but that did not stop Charlotte showing true fighting spirit trailing all the way but coming back to win 3-2 (14-12) in the 5th against Zoe.

Last up was Tamworth with both teams now competing for the bronze medal so a lot was on this match, Charlotte went up first and beat Morgan Sykes 3-0 , next up was Georgina playing Aimee Evans, unfortunately losing 3-1 to level match 1-1, then it was the doubles which the girls lost 3-2 to trail the match 2-1 , Georgina bounced back to beat Morgan 3-1 to set up a nervous last match winner takes all Charlotte v Aimee,  Charlotte took the first end but lost the second 1-1 but with the fantastic help from coach Martin Gray Charlotte settled into her old routine and won the next two ends for a 3-1 win and clinch the bronze for Cambridge.

On the day both girls played amazing in this competition considering how little training they have both had lately due to recent and ongoing GCSEs exams.
