Cheltenham surpassed their expectations and gained a comprehensive victory over Nuneaton “B” in winning with an 8-2 score line. Similar to Cheltenham, Ady Yates (their Captain) rotates his squad which seemed to help Cheltenham’s style of play. The star performer was Cheltenham’s Roy Fowler who played with both attacking and defensive control to gain a maximum 3 victories, also teaming up with Dennis Wadley to take the doubles. For Cheltenham Dennis Wadley and Mike Dodwell managed 2 wins apiece, whilst for Nuneaton “B” Pete Morris was the only player with any success in winning 2 matches.
After the match both teams gath
ered around the food table to enjoy a good spread with some pleasant banter and several cups of well deserved team.
Cheltenham are tying with Covedntry B at top of the Division with one match each on Sunday April 9th. Unfortunately the match is away at Mansfield. Cheltenham play a team just below them in the table whilst Coventry play the bottom team.
