In the all County Officers Premier division clash British League player Hannah Winfield led the first team to a comfortable 7-3 victory over the A squad who brought in Colin Fergus for his top flight baptism. Elsewhere Newton A included top 10 National ranked veteran Tomasz Rzeszotko for their visit to Pulford A and with Milan Puchala also in the side they ran out emphatic 9-1 victors. Dave Southall defeated Tung Pham for the only home success.

Russell Benstead was in top form for Groves A as they narrowly defeated Barrow A 6-4 in a division 1 fixture and they are now league leaders. Graham Boyd and Peter Cottam were also in unbeatable form as Groves B outpointed Newton B 7-3 and Steve Clift ensured a club hat trick as he led the first team to a close 6-4 win against Saughall Port.

Despite a maximum from Mike Moss division strugglers Groves C lost away at Saughall Deva in division 2, but with Mal Turley returning to their ranks Groves D fared better at County Officers C winning  decisively 7-3 to move them to the head of the league table.

Division 3 action saw County Officers D continue their fine start to the season defeating their own E squad 7-3, and Saughall Institute maintained their challenge winning away 6-4 against fellow title hopefuls Electric Sports A.
