The veterans first team entertained Oldham in a very important Lancs/Cheshire Premier league fixture with both teams needing points to safeguard their status. Simon Jones and Milan Puchala were called up by captain Rob Wylie as other players were unavailable but both proved more than capable with tremendous maximums to form the basis of a fine 8-2 victory. They next travel to Mid Cheshire for another important clash.

In the local Premier division Florin Barbus was undefeated as Pulford outpointed their A team 8-2 to move into third position in the table,  John Ashbrook hitting a fine win over talented Andy Eagles for the A side.

Division 1 action saw leaders Pulford B record a narrow 6-4 victory over improving Groves B and Gareth Hughes and Martin Dodd lead lowly Barrow B to a welcome 6 4 success over a slightly weakened Groves trio. Suzanne Burgess lost all 3 games in the first encounter between Newton B and Saughall Port, this time she hit a comfortable maximum to lead Newton to a emphatic 8-2 scoreline.

Dave Ash and Chris Walker both hit 2 wins as Saughall Deva closed on the leaders following an important 6-4 division 2 victory over a useful Officers C trio.

In division 3 Tom Bawn was undefeated as Officers F continued their fine season with an 8-2 success over Groves E and Bob Salisbury was another unbeaten player as high flying Saughall Institute hit a similar scoreline against Officers E. Elsewhere Bryan Fitzpatrick rescued Barrow C with a maximum in their top clash with the Officers D team and eventually the match ended all square.

In a recent Peter Powell division 1 semi final match Newton B recovered from 3-1 down to force a ninth game doubles decider against Groves B and Burgess/ Lee completed the comeback in fine style.
