In the only Premier fixture champions Newton were forced to field a weakened team against Pulford B but still ran out comfortable winners 8 2 with Shaun Hall hitting a maximum. John Chan picked up the Pulford points edging out Connor Climo and Roger Lee.

A division 1 fixture saw Mike Mercer lead the Newton B team to a 7 3 success over newly promoted Groves C for whom Mike Moss played well.

In the Premier Cup quarter final the powerful Barrow squad outpointed a very useful Pulford trio 6 0 and remain firm favourites for cup/league double. Andy Eagles played well for Pulford, losing a terrific 5 setter against talented Mitchell Barker.

County Officers A reached the division 1 cup final with a very tight 5 4 victory over Groves A, and in division 2 another Officers squad is a finalist as the in form C team outpointed the B squad 5 2 . They will face Groves D led by unbeaten Lynsey Pellew-Nabbs who proved too strong for a battling Electric Sports team led by Andy Moulton.

Bob Salisbury and his Saughall Inst team may be well down the division 3 table at present but they are a good side and in the cup semi final comfortably defeated a sporting Electric Sports A trio 5 0.

Mark Pugh won 2 games for the Veterans first team in a Lancs/Cheshire Premier fixture away at Trafford but they lost for the first time this season 4 6. Rob Wylie and Ken Connor each picked up a singles victory.
