Barrow extended their lead at the top of the Premier division with a hard fought 7-3 victory over a useful Newton A squad. Captain Rob Wylie was in fine form hitting a maximum which included a rare defeat upon talented Slovak Milan Puchala who was also taken to 5 games by young David Eckl. Pulford remain in third spot following an emphatic but entertaining 9-1 scoreline over County Officers A, Simon Jones and Florin Barbus hitting three wins each.
In division 1 leaders Pulford B struggled to overcome Beechwood 6-4 but still hold a useful lead over challengers Groves A who completely outplayed their B side and recorded a terrific 9-1 scoreline with Russell Benstead leading the way. Also moving up the table are the strong Barrow A squad and led by hard hitting Ray Gregory they defeated Martin Dodd and his Barrow B team 8-2 and following promotion last season this team looks doomed to finish bottom of the table. Newton B continue to struggle and a Steve Clift inspired Groves side comfortably defeated them 7-3.
Division 2 highlights included a terrific 9-1 success for Saughall Deva away at County Officers B with maximums for Dave Ash and Robin Arrich. Despite a fine performance by John Rowland Barrovians went down 3-7 to an improving Officers C squad.
County Officers F continue to impress in division 3 and with John Ashton and young Tom Brawn in fine form they accounted for Electric Sports A 7-3 and on an adjoining table Russell Hunt was undefeated as Barrow D overcame lowly Officers G 7 points to 3 to remain fourth in the table.
